Mission Accomplished
So the 10 day drought (cleanse) is over and it has been pretty successful. The results are a testament to the book and detox's instructions. If you follow thru the recipes everyday and make sure to consume only healthy snacks you too should be successful. I have lost an inch in each area measured (bust, waist, hips) and a total of 12lbs. I also leave with some other benefits mentioned in book like a clearer mind and less of a craving for unhealthy foods. Here are my before and afters

Goal Achieved
Today I hopped on the scale and saw that I have reached my goal weight of 180lbs.
I have officially lost a quarter of myself (from 240 to 180!) Setting goals is a great thing, it makes you push yourself, gives you something to look forward to, and helps you to stay on track. Are you goal digging? #FIT

Progress Day 365
Yea it technically was yesterday, but wow here it is a whole year later from where I started. Started out last January 29th obese and wanting to make a change, now I'm more fit than I've been in my whole life. To anyone who set any type of new year's resolution or any goal this year whether it be health/weight related, to quit smoking, whatever; I want to encourage you to stick with it. You're already almost 30 days in!! The time is gonna go by anyway. You may slip up (I know I do lol), but never give up. As I get older I see more that time really does fly by. This will probably be my last "official" weigh in post, but no worries I will still be posting updates of my progress... Just not officially lol. Stay in the race fit fam. #FIT

Holiday dinner or nah?
It's the holiday season, yay! The holiday season is a great time for family, celebration, and observance, but don't let this festive time knock you off your game when it comes to your weight/body/fitness goals. I came back from the Thanksgiving week weighing in at 194lbs on that Monday, after I had gotten down to my lowest of 187 the week before. Now on my journey it hasn't been strange for me to fluctuate 2lbs between visits to the scale, but to gain 7lbs in one week I knew I had caught myself slipping. What can I say? I was indulging in that good ol Mac n cheese, stuffing, potato salad, greens, green bean casserole, cornbread, cheesecake, red velvet cake (wipes drool)... and enjoying veggie burgers with extra mayo, pickles, cheese, and fries (thank you Burger King!) while traveling up and down the road to my destinations. On top of all that, I only worked out one time that week. All that is said to let you know it is ok during this season to enjoy your family and friends and that good soul food (or Caribbean, Italian, what have you) as well! Just make sure you don't use that holiday dinner as an excuse to completely get off track. After my "slippage" I got back on track with my healthy eating and went hard in my gym and home workouts and I am glad to say that six days later I am six pounds lighter, weighing in today at 188. #FIT

50 Pounds and Counting
I've been tap dancing on being 50lbs down for like the past 2 months. However today was the first time I stepped on the scale and it read 180 something, thought that was epic enough to take a pic lol. 9lbs away from goal and happily packing on the muscle (using the 20lb free weights for arms). #FIT

Another Goal Achieved (check)
*ignore my footsies* lol but as of this past Sunday? I've met another goal of weighing in under 200lbs. Last time I checked I weighed in at 198. I haven't worked out in a week and eating's been a lil off, y'all pray that when I get back from vacation I'm still under 200 lol. 42 lbs down so far 18 more to go before I reach my 2nd (perhaps final) weight goal of being down to 180! #FIT

Shawty you a 10
Who knew I'd meet my original size goal of a 10 this soon in the game. Well looks like I did. I haven't bought hardly any new clothes since I started this weightloss journey. Why? One answer... I'm not made out of money lol. I was wearing the same ol (now baggy) pants and when I did purchase a few new pants they were all elastic waist, not an actual number size. I finally gave in and got rid of a whole rack of pants and shorts... Shirts we'll come back to later seeing as you can wear shirts too big and not look like a complete slob lol. All that being said to say that I got two new pairs of dress pants today from jcpenney and they were both a size 10. Before jcp I walked into the plus size store Ashley Stewart, because I saw they were having a huge sale. I asked the salesperson did they make pants in long (y'all know my long legged struggle), and the girl asked well what size are you? I paused because I literally didn't know what size I was lol. The girl pointed me in the direction of the tall slacks but said the smallest size they carry was a 12 and that would probably be too big for me I looked more like a 10... Well she was right lol.

It's the little things
Hopped on the scale this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see my weight in the 207 range. As always it's not ALL about the weight, but this number is very significant. Rounded up to 208lbs this puts me as having a BMI (body mass index) of 29.8. Bringing me out of the obesity range into the less health affecting "overweight" range. My starting BMI was 34.4. That number falls in the Class I obese range (30.0-34.9) and had me knocking on the door of Class II (35-39.9) YIKES!! But thank God for the victory! I'm getting so much closer to ONEderland (under 200lbs) I can almost taste it... tastes like clean eating lol. If you would like to learn more about BMI and to calculate your own, visit http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.htm #FIT
